Nurse Practitioner (On-Site)
Our client is actively seeking experienced Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) to provide high-quality, compassionate care within a correctional healthcare setting.
Working under the supervision of the facility physician, the ARNP will play a critical role in delivering primary and urgent care, supporting treatment planning, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to address the complex medical needs of the inmate/resident population.
Salary range: $100,000 to $175,000 a year
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive primary and urgent care services, including exams, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to guide patient management.
Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within licensure scope.
Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and healthcare team members.
Accurately document all patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical records.
Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and coordinate clinically appropriate early releases.
Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and quality assurance initiatives.
Maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation of medical equipment and clinical areas.
Collaborate effectively with correctional officers, internal staff, and external healthcare providers.
Provide patient education and health counseling to individuals and small groups.
Respond to medical emergencies, including performing CPR and administering first aid.
Support compliance with NCCHC, ACA, and JCAHO standards through documentation and continuous improvement.
Attend staff meetings and participate in interdisciplinary committees to enhance healthcare delivery.
Remain vigilant and responsive in high-pressure or potentially volatile situations.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current licensure and/or certification as an ARNP in the state of employment.
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience (correctional, emergency, or public health experience a plus).
Family Practice certification or training preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
Strong clinical judgment and excellent documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work in a secure environment and remain calm under pressure.
Willingness to work rotating shifts and adapt to a controlled setting.
