We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Patent Agents to join the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Patent Prosecution Practice Group at a top-tier Am Law 100 firm. This is a hybrid position with flexibility to work from one of several major U.S. offices. You will be part of a collaborative, nationally recognized IP practice working on cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications.
- Collaborate with attorneys, inventors, and clients on patent strategy and portfolio development.
- Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and infringement analyses.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant technology and changes in patent law.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
- Admission to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Strong academic credentials and relevant industry or law firm experience.
- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Technical Background:
- Experience in electrical engineering or software-related patent prosecution.
- Familiarity with technologies such as data science, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, network security, or RF circuitry.
- Knowledge of hardware and/or communications security, including encryption technologies.
Salary & Benefits:
- Base Salary Range: $110,000 – $190,000, depending on experience and location.

- Locations: Positions are available in Atlanta, Denver, Houston, Kansas City, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, and Washington, DC.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid – approximately 2–3 days per week onsite as needed.
