We are seeking an experienced Tooling Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tooling maintenance, injection molding processes, and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing tooling and molds to ensure continuous, efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on injection molding tools and equipment to minimize downtime.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain tools, molds, and dies to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Assist with the setup and modification of tools and molds for production runs.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems related to tooling equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure tools are optimized for production needs.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and tool conditions.
- Adhere to safety standards and ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
Essential Functions
- Hands-on experience with tooling maintenance, mold maintenance, and injection molding processes.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Minimum Education and Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field is preferred.
- Certification or training in tooling, mold maintenance, or a related area is a plus.
Must-Haves
- Injection Molding Experience – Solid understanding and hands-on experience with injection molding tooling and equipment.
- Mechanical and Electrical Aptitude – Strong ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems related to tooling.
- Hydraulic and Pneumatic Experience – Proficient in the use, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems in tooling applications.
- 2+ Years of Tooling/Mold Maintenance Experience – At least two years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting tooling and molds in a manufacturing environment.
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in tooling maintenance, mold maintenance, or a related field.
- Prior experience with injection molding tooling and equipment maintenance.
- Hands-on experience working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in an industrial environment.
