We are seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney with 4 to 8 years of experience to join the firm’s San Diego office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled litigator to contribute to a dynamic management-side Labor & Employment practice. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation experience and a deep understanding of both federal and California employment laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent employers in litigation involving wage and hour issues, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other employment matters
- Handle proceedings before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies
- Take ownership of case management, including drafting pleadings and motions, responding to discovery, taking depositions, and attending hearings
- Provide strategic counsel to clients on employment compliance, internal investigations, and workplace policies
- Work closely with partners and clients to develop case strategies and ensure timely deliverables
- Monitor and interpret changes in employment legislation and case law
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws (e.g., FMLA, FEHA, Title VII, ADA, and wage/hour regulations)
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision
- Effective collaboration and communication with colleagues and clients
- Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
- Admission to the California Bar and in good standing
- 4–8 years of employment litigation experience, preferably at a law firm
- Prior experience handling discovery, motion practice, hearings, and agency proceedings
Salary & Benefits:
- Base salary range of $175,000–$250,000, commensurate with experience
