We are seeking a Manager focused on state and federal government affairs to join a growing Federal Policy, Advocacy, and Consulting (FPAC) practice. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of healthcare policy and legislative advocacy, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients across various public policy issues.

The ideal candidate will have 2 to 4 years of experience in state and/or federal policy, with a strong focus on healthcare. A background in Medicaid policy is a plus. This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and experience building bipartisan relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and summarize state and federal legislation, committee activity, government reports, and related materials
  • Develop advocacy content such as bill summaries, infographics, letters, and other strategic communications
  • Build and maintain bipartisan relationships with Congressional offices and state lawmakers
  • Lead or support direct advocacy efforts at both the state and federal levels on behalf of clients
  • Train and prepare advocates to effectively share their stories and policy positions in state legislatures and on Capitol Hill
  • Contribute to the development and execution of client policy and advocacy strategies
  • Manage relationships with clients' state-based lobbyists and coordinate on-the-ground efforts
  • Engage with coalitions and trade associations to support broader stakeholder alignment

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in state and/or federal policy, with a strong focus on healthcare; experience with Medicaid is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a bipartisan manner and engage effectively with a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex policy information
  • Team-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with clients, policymakers, and advocacy partners

Salary & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $80,000 – $130,000, commensurate with experience
  • Bonus: Discretionary bonus based on performance
