We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Director to lead our hospital's risk management, patient safety, and corporate compliance initiatives. This pivotal role involves analyzing risk data, overseeing investigations, collaborating with legal counsel, and developing programs to minimize loss and protect organizational assets. The Quality Director will also champion patient safety and ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement departmental goals and performance standards aligned with legal, clinical, administrative, and ethical objectives.
  • Oversee patient care delivery systems, technology utilization, service levels, and complaint resolution processes.
  • Lead investigations related to patient concerns, incidents, and claims, collaborating with legal counsel as necessary.
  • Serve as the facility’s Patient Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals and other regulatory standards.
  • Chair the Ethics Committee and manage related governance activities.
  • Conduct audits and training sessions as part of the ongoing Corporate Compliance Program.
  • Direct internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with OSHA, JCAHO, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Manage staffing operations, including hiring, evaluations, education, and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets in alignment with funding allocations.
  • Foster an environment that promotes professional growth and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Maintain confidentiality, uphold organizational values, and ensure the highest standard of patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Licensure:

  • Active North Carolina Nursing License or Multistate Nursing License required.

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in healthcare risk management or claims investigation/management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related healthcare experience; prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and JCAHO standards is required.
  • Experience in medical or pharmaceutical environments is a plus.
