Our client, a growing healthcare services organization, is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join their team. This role involves providing comprehensive occupational therapy services in both facility and home settings to enhance participant independence and functional abilities. As a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT), the Occupational Therapist works closely with Primary Care Physicians, rehabilitation teams, and other staff to improve participants' quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough Occupational Therapy assessments to evaluate care needs, goals, and preferences, contributing to care plan development in IDT meetings.
Implement and document Occupational Therapy interventions, utilizing various techniques and tools for muscle re-education, cognitive function improvement, and daily living activities.
Supervise and mentor Therapy Assistants, ensuring the effective implementation of Functional Maintenance Programs (FMP).
Educate staff, participants, and caregivers on Occupational Therapy practices and therapeutic techniques for daily activities.
Facilitate smooth care transitions and actively contribute to end-of-life care coordination.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA & ACOTE-accredited program.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy, preferably working with the frail or elderly population.
Preferred: At least two years of supervisory experience with a strong record in team development and mentorship.
Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in California as required by state regulations.
