Employment Law Partner
Top Tier Reps is seeking a seasoned Employment Law Partner with 8+ years of experience in employment litigation defense, particularly under California’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). This role is ideal for an attorney with a well-established practice and proven leadership abilities who’s ready to guide litigation strategy, mentor junior attorneys, and help drive business development.
Key Responsibilities
1. PAGA Litigation & Case Management
- Lead and manage high-stakes PAGA claims and class action-style lawsuits
- Develop case strategy, oversee discovery, draft legal documents, and represent clients in hearings or settlement negotiations
- Work closely with legal teams to gather evidence, take depositions, and prepare for trial
2. Client Advisory & Compliance
- Advise clients on California labor law compliance and risk mitigation
- Conduct audits and develop client policies on wage and hour compliance, classification, and meal/rest break issues
- Stay current on legislative and case law changes affecting PAGA and related employment issues
3. Business Development & Client Relations
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through strategic counsel and responsive service
- Deliver presentations, workshops, or training for clients and prospective clients on PAGA and labor compliance
- Support business development through networking and industry outreach
4. Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and staff in litigation procedures and legal writing
- Review and approve legal work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance
- Foster a collaborative and growth-focused work environment
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of employment litigation defense experience, including PAGA and class actions
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active member of the California State Bar in good standing
- Strong research, writing, and negotiation skills
- Experience with public entity defense is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and mentoring experience
