Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and manage operational and capital budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Identify opportunities for financial process improvements and implement solutions for increased efficiency.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to internal control policies and procedures.
Team Management & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4 finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support professional growth opportunities.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and effective scheduling to meet departmental objectives.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee accounts payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices in accordance with company policies.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets, providing financial insights to support decision-making.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with ethical and legal business practices, as well as accreditation, regulatory, and government regulations.
- Maintain staff credentials and competencies in accordance with accrediting/licensing agency guidelines.
- Promote a safe and effective work environment through the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in healthcare finance is highly desirable.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Accredited Payables Specialist (APS)
- Accredited Payables Manager (APM)
- Certified Financial Accountant (CFA)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
