I&CM Data and AI Risk Governance Lead
Our client, a leading financial services company, is seeking a Data and AI Risk Governance Lead to join its Investments & Capital Markets (I&CM) division. Based in New York, NY, this role plays a pivotal part in supporting enterprise-wide risk programs and ensuring the safe, responsible use of data and AI technologies.
As the Risk Governance Lead, you will develop and implement risk frameworks, collaborate across departments, and champion ethical AI practices. You will influence policy, guide compliance, and help define performance and risk metrics that shape the firm’s data-driven future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with legal, technical, and business teams to share risk findings and support sound decision-making.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk evaluations for data management and AI use cases, and develop actionable mitigation strategies.
- Policy Development: Lead the creation and enhancement of AI governance and risk policies aligned with regulatory and industry standards.
- Ethical AI Advocacy: Promote responsible AI principles—transparency, fairness, and accountability.
- Security Support: Guide information security teams on AI-related data and security risk considerations.
- Compliance Oversight: Monitor adherence to data/AI policies and drive corrective actions as needed.
- Training & Awareness: Create training programs and awareness campaigns to elevate understanding of data and AI risks.
- Metrics & Reporting: Help define and monitor key performance and risk indicators (KPIs and KRIs) related to AI and model data usage.

Salary & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $150,000 – $175,000 (flexible for top candidates)

Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in risk management with exposure to technology, model, and information risk
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2–5 years of leadership or management experience
- Expertise in AI and Data Management, including ML, NLP, etc.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and standards (e.g., IEEE, NIST, ISO/IEC)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
