Client Details:
A highly respected legal team is seeking a Subrogation/Civil Attorney to join their growing practice. The work environment fosters collaboration, professional growth, and a strong culture of recognition and support. Candidates must reside in California and be open to occasional travel for hearings, client meetings, and depositions.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers
Prepare legal correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers
Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
Attend court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences
Manage calendar and scheduling
Conduct and defend depositions of parties and expert witnesses
Negotiate settlements on subrogation matters
Manage discovery and respond to written requests
Oversee proactive case management and mentor legal assistants
Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and co-workers
Participate in marketing events
Input and manage case information using PracticeMaster
Meet legal deadlines and billing requirements
Conduct legal training seminars as needed
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of California civil procedure and relevant laws
Perform other duties and tasks as needed
Skills & Experience:
Juris Doctor and Bachelor's degree
Active membership in the California State Bar
Strong research, negotiation, and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Demonstrated ability to proactively manage caseloads
Residency in California is required
