Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive veterinary care including examination, diagnostics, treatment, and surgery for shelter and community animals.
- Perform sterilization procedures and oversee routine and emergency surgical care.
- Participate in public health initiatives and shelter population management.
- Maintain accurate, compliant medical records and documentation.
- Collaborate with staff to develop and improve care protocols and workflows.
- Provide guidance and training to veterinary staff and support personnel.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Tennessee.
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain) to prescribe and manage controlled substances.
- Proficiency in surgical procedures and shelter-based medicine preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive annual salary: $115,000 – $165,000, based on experience and qualifications.
