Join a leading healthcare system in Houston, TX as a Pediatric ECMO Specialist. In this full-time, onsite role, you’ll support critically ill pediatric patients by operating ECMO machines during life-saving interventions. Ideal for experienced RNs with pediatric or NICU backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

Operate ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) equipment during critical care procedures for pediatric patients
Deliver safe, high-quality, age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric and NICU patients
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and support examinations and treatments
Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
Participate in rapid response situations requiring ECMO intervention
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory standards
Educate patients and families regarding care plans and procedures
Mentor and provide guidance to junior clinical staff
Actively participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program (required)
Licenses/Certifications:
- Active RN license to practice in the State of Texas (or compact state eligibility)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Additional specialty certifications may be required depending on department needs
Experience:
- Prior experience operating ECMO equipment (required)
- Pediatric or NICU critical care nursing experience (required)
- Experience levels:
  - RN I: Less than 1 year
  - Skills:
    - Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
    - Ability to work effectively under pressure in high-acuity environments
    - Excellent communication and collaboration skills
