We are seeking a motivated Environment & Energy Associate to join our dynamic and growing practice group. This team is nationally recognized for its expertise in environmental and renewable energy project development.

The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience representing clients in various environmental and/or energy matters. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects involving regulatory compliance, litigation, and renewable energy development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in environmental and energy matters, including appearances before administrative bodies.
  • Manage permitting processes, regulatory compliance, due diligence, and transactional matters in the energy and environmental sectors.
  • Conduct litigation activities such as depositions, motion practice, court appearances, and electronic discovery.
  • Provide counsel on environmental regulatory compliance, remedial project management, and complex environmental litigation.
  • Assist in environmental risk management and due diligence for transactions.
  • Negotiate and draft complex environmental contractual provisions and agreements.
  • Support renewable energy project siting, development, permitting, acquisition, transfer, and financing transactions.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in environmental and/or energy law.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of New York.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with environmental regulatory compliance and remedial project management.
  • Familiarity with complex environmental litigation and administrative practices.
  • Knowledge of environmental risk management and due diligence processes.
  • Proficiency in negotiating and drafting environmental contractual provisions.
  • Experience in renewable energy project development and related transactions.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $130,000 – $158,000, commensurate with experience.
