Our client, a leading healthcare system, is actively seeking a Director of Labor and Delivery and Women’s Services. This key leadership role oversees the Labor and Delivery Unit, Postpartum, and Nursery/NICU Units. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective nursing care, managing clinical competency, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 24/7 leadership and oversight of unit operations, including Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery/NICU Units

  • Develop and implement strategic and operational goals that align with organizational objectives

  • Manage staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development

  • Ensure nursing practices comply with regulatory standards, integrating evidence-based practices to enhance patient care

  • Oversee budgeting and financial management to ensure operational efficiency

  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, care quality, and professionalism

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in North Carolina

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred); Master’s Degree highly preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of RN experience, including at least 2 years in a management or leadership role

  • Required certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider)

The Director of Women’s Services will play a vital role in mentoring nursing staff, leading quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring excellence in patient care across the units under their oversight. This role requires a strong hospital operational background, leadership skills, and the ability to work under pressure while promoting a culture of safety and patient-centered care.
