Our client, a leading healthcare system, is actively seeking a Director of Labor and Delivery and Women’s Services. This key leadership role oversees the Labor and Delivery Unit, Postpartum, and Nursery/NICU Units. Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective nursing care, managing clinical competency, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 24/7 leadership and oversight of unit operations, including Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery/NICU Units
Develop and implement strategic and operational goals that align with organizational objectives
Manage staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development
Ensure nursing practices comply with regulatory standards, integrating evidence-based practices to enhance patient care
Oversee budgeting and financial management to ensure operational efficiency
Maintain high standards of patient safety, care quality, and professionalism
Qualifications:
Active RN license in North Carolina
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred); Master’s Degree highly preferred
Minimum 5 years of RN experience, including at least 2 years in a management or leadership role
Required certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider)
The Director of Women’s Services will play a vital role in mentoring nursing staff, leading quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring excellence in patient care across the units under their oversight.
