Am Law 200 firm seeks a Labor & Employment Associate with 3–6 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have strong defense litigation skills and experience handling workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defend clients in labor and employment litigation, including cases involving:
    • Workplace discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
    • Wrongful termination and other employment-related claims
  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case evaluations
  • Participate in administrative hearings and depositions (experience preferred)
  • Draft employment policies, handbooks, and training materials
  • Advise clients on daily HR and employment law issues
  • Conduct internal investigations and workplace training sessions

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • 3 to 6 years of labor and employment experience in a law firm setting
  • Member of the New York Bar, or eligible to waive in
  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting, research, and oral advocacy
  • Experience with administrative agencies (e.g., EEOC, NYSDHR) is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong academic background
  • Professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic

Note: Candidates with “jumpy” or primarily contract/temp work experience will not be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on workplace issues and compliance
