Surety/Construction Associate – Remote

Our client is seeking an Associate with 2+ years of experience to join its Fidelity Surety & Coverage business unit, focusing on surety and construction law. This position will be part of the surety/construction team in Collin County, TX. This position will be based remotely with occasional travel required. The ideal candidate will be based in one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Mississippi, Oklahoma, or Texas. The surety practice encompasses litigation in both state and federal courts, counseling, dispute resolution, and contract drafting and negotiation.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Active Texas Bar license or eligibility for the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) in Texas.
Practical or legal knowledge of the construction industry is preferred but not required.
Prior experience with construction disputes, mechanics’ liens, and/or preparing and negotiating construction contracts is a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with attorneys, consultants, and clients.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent academic credentials.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $130,000 - $165,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
