Knowledge and Innovation Attorney (Litigation)
We are seeking a forward-thinking Knowledge and Innovation Attorney (KIA) to support 1–2 litigation practice groups at a prestigious Am Law 100 firm. Based in New York City with a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office), this role sits within the firm’s Practice Innovation & Legal Solutions Department and reports to the Director of Knowledge and Innovation.
The KIA will act as a key resource in advancing knowledge management, technology adoption, and innovation strategy. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced litigation attorney seeking to shape the future of legal operations while staying engaged with substantive legal work.
Key Responsibilities
Knowledge & Data Management
- Assess and implement knowledge management solutions across assigned litigation groups
- Develop and maintain model documents, templates, internal practice guides, and client materials
- Maintain matter/experience data via internal systems such as Foundation
- Curate and contribute to thought leadership and client-facing content
- Track and disseminate legal and market developments
- Support KM platform adoption, training, and firmwide integration
- Lead or coordinate practice-specific training programs in collaboration with Talent Development
- Collaborate across practice groups to share resources and best practices
Technology & Innovation
- Identify inefficiencies in legal workflows and recommend improvements
- Evaluate and pilot emerging legal tech tools; drive adoption and change management
- Monitor trends in legal innovation and help shape firm policy and best practices
- Liaise with legal tech vendors and the firm’s technology teams to ensure tool alignment with strategy
Qualifications
- JD required; must be actively licensed and in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm (complex litigation, IP, or labor & employment preferred)
- Experience in knowledge management or legal innovation roles strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of litigation workflows, legal research, and drafting
- Proficiency with legal tech platforms and KM systems
- Exceptional project management and communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
Salary & Benefits
- Base Salary: $205,000 – $280,000 (depending on experience)
- Bonus: Annual, performance-based

Candidate Requirements
- Candidates must have law firm litigation experience and a strong understanding of litigation practice needs
- Experience with legal innovation, KM, or related tech-forward roles is highly preferred
- Candidates must demonstrate a stable work history and strong academic background
