Position Available: Specialist, Business Development - Intellectual Property Practice Group
Role Responsibilities:
- Strategic Development: Contribute to the creation and execution of business development and marketing plans, including setting goals, action items, and deadlines.
- Market Analysis: Develop a deep understanding of the practice’s market position, strengths, key industries, and client base.
- Proposal Preparation: Draft and prepare proposals, pitches, and communications for clients and prospective clients.
- Campaign Strategy: Drive content-focused campaigns aimed at generating new business opportunities.
- Cross-Selling Initiatives: Collaborate with the global business development team to identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities.
- Client Development: Support key client efforts and work on best practices to enhance high-value services for key clients.
- Event Management: Plan and oversee seminars, events, and other targeted marketing activities.
- Budget Management: Assist practice group leaders and the business development senior manager in managing relevant budgets.
- Collaboration: Work with PR, communications, and digital marketing managers on relevant initiatives.
- Travel: Travel as needed to support initiatives and participate in activities.
- Project Leadership: Lead additional related projects within the department or firm as assigned.
Required Skills and Proficiencies:
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of technologies, trends, and literature in legal and professional services marketing.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, document management systems, and CRM systems.
- Research Skills: Proficiency in online research and the ability to analyze information to identify market trends and growth opportunities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and proofreading abilities.
- Operational Insight: Knowledge of law firm operations and the needs of corporate legal clients.
- Marketing Expertise: Advanced understanding of marketing principles, procedures, and practical applications.
- Networking: Basic knowledge of networking and relationship management.
- Leadership: Proficiency in team building, management, and leadership skills.
- Legal Knowledge: Basic understanding of legal concepts.
- Project Management: Ability to independently manage priorities and projects effectively.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree (required).
- At least 5 years of work experience (required); Law firm experience (preferred).
- Experience supporting Intellectual Property Practice Group (preferred).
