Our client, a global consumer products company, is seeking a Government Affairs Manager to lead and execute public policy strategies that align with corporate priorities. This hybrid role is ideal for a government affairs professional with experience in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry and a strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulatory landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze political, legislative, and regulatory trends affecting the CPG sector
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies to mitigate policy risks and identify opportunities
- Build relationships with lawmakers, agencies, trade associations, and NGOs
- Advise executive leadership on emerging public policy trends and impacts
- Manage consultants and cross-functional projects related to public affairs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, government relations, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in government affairs, lobbying, or public policy (CPG industry experience strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of regulatory issues: packaging, plastics, tariffs, ingredient restrictions, etc.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into policy solutions
- Experience working with global teams or organizations (strongly preferred)
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and project management skills
Salary & Benefits
- $125,000 – $150,000 base + annual bonus
